For the next month or so I will be doing a friendly competition with Jon Gilson. We will be mainly doing the CFVB wods with a slight bit of deviation. Jon is a hell of a great trainer and a good buddy of mine. He is out of CrossFit Boston and runs AgainFaster.com. We do a lot of seminars together and he said he has to work out alone much of the time. We all know how boring that can be. So he asked if we could have this friendly competition. It should be a blast. I'm not sure how it is going to shake out. Jon is a hell of an athlete and very talented at the olympic lifts. Both of us will be posting here on CFVB each day.
Alright, here we go. On the Back squat I got 315 for 3. I felt like I may have had a bit more in the tank, but not much. On Front Squat I got 245 for 3. I got 275 for 2 and failed on the 3rd rep. Yup, too big of a leap.
Thomi did heavy OHS today and PR'd with 135#. Strong work.
Thanks for taking on the challenge! This is definitely the spark I need, and I plan on bringing it 100%.
Looks like yesterday wasn't my day, brother. Back Squat went 275 for 3, Front 215 for 3. Nothing popped. Moving some of the carbs back into regular meals instead of trying to cram eight blocks down post-workout.
